Welcome to Folio Support! Folio is a notes app built around a true markdown canvas — pin your notes to your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island as Live Activities, and enhance them with on-device AI.
Folio is a block-based markdown note editor. Write notes with real markdown blocks, pin an active note to your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island as a Live Activity, and share notes with a partner or collaborator through your own private iCloud account. Folio has no accounts and no servers of its own.
A: Yes. Folio has no accounts, no analytics, and no servers of its own. Notes are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your own private iCloud account. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
A: Enhance with AI runs entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. It requires a device and iOS version that supports Apple Intelligence; your note text is never sent to Folio or to any third party.
A: Open the note and tap Share, then choose who to invite. Sharing uses Apple's CloudKit — only people you invite can see the note, and you can stop sharing at any time from the note's share settings.
A: Live Activities are rendered by iOS itself. Make sure Live Activities are enabled for Folio in Settings → Folio → Live Activities, and that the note is still pinned in the app.
A: No, except for iCloud sync and sharing if you choose to use them. Local notes work fully offline.
Shared notes sync through iCloud, which can take a few moments. Make sure both devices are signed in to iCloud with an internet connection, and that the collaborator has accepted the sharing invitation.
This feature requires a device and iOS version that support Apple Intelligence. Check Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri to confirm it's available and enabled on your device.
Folio is actively developed and your feedback shapes what comes next. Whether it's a feature request, a bug report, or just a suggestion, we want to hear from you.
