Byheart Support
Welcome to Byheart Support! Byheart keeps the details you always
have to look up — passport number, IBAN, home address — and hands them to you
inside whatever app you are already using.

Setting up Back Tap
- Open Byheart and save at least one detail.
- Open Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Back Tap.
- Choose Triple Tap, scroll to the Shortcuts section, and pick
Byheart quick access.
To use it, open any app, triple-tap the back of your iPhone, and tap the detail
you want. It goes straight to your clipboard — press and hold the field and
choose Paste.
Frequently Asked Questions
Nothing happens when I triple-tap the back of my phone.
Back Tap has to be turned on for Byheart specifically — it is off by default.
Follow the three steps above. A few things worth knowing:
- Back Tap does not work through every case, particularly thick or metal ones.
- It is unavailable on iPhone 7 and earlier.
- If Byheart does not appear in the Back Tap list, open the app once first
so iOS can register its shortcut.
Why does Byheart copy the value instead of typing it into the field?
iOS does not let an app place text directly into another app's text field unless
it is acting as a keyboard or an AutoFill provider, and both of those cost far
more taps than Back Tap does. Copying keeps the whole interaction to two actions:
triple-tap, then tap the row.
Why can't I search in the picker?
The list is drawn by iOS itself, not by Byheart, so it has no search field. It is
ranked instead — favourites first, then what you use most often, then what you
used last — which puts the detail you want near the top. You can search inside
the Byheart app itself.
What does "protected" do?
A protected detail is hidden behind Face ID. Its value is masked everywhere in
the app, and revealing or copying it requires authentication. A protected copy is
also marked local-only, so it is not shared to your other Apple devices, and it
clears itself from the clipboard after 30, 60 or 120 seconds — your choice, in
Settings › Protected Clipboard.
Is Byheart a password manager?
No, and deliberately so. Byheart is for facts you look up — numbers, addresses,
reference codes. It does not store website logins, does not fill password fields,
and does not try to replace your password manager.
What does Byheart Pro include?
The free version keeps up to 5 details. Byheart Pro removes that limit. It is an
auto-renewing annual subscription, charged to your Apple Account, which renews
unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in
Settings › your name › Subscriptions. If you
reinstall or change device, use Restore Purchases in the app.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your iPhone. Labels live in the app's own preferences and values live in
the iOS Keychain, tied to this device. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or shared.
See our
Privacy Policy.
What happens to my details if I delete the app?
They are removed with it. Because nothing is stored on a server, there is no copy
for us to restore — so if a detail matters, keep its original source too.
